46 Berkeley Square
A major and prestigious project to refurbish a Grade 1 listed building at 46 Berkeley Square to become the permanent new home of the world-famous Annabel’s Private Members club.
The works include underpinning and the creation of a new two storey opening which included the design and installation of substantial temporary propping works to the Grade 1 structure to prevent cracking and movement while the openings were carefully enlarged.
Works also include the demolition of the existing terrace slab and reinstatement along with lowering of the basement to create improved headroom and a sunken dance floor in the main dancing area of the club. A new steel structure will support a bespoke glass roof structure over the new terrace which will connect the two buildings.
Installation consisted of the following:
- Installation, assembly and glazing of a 22-ton retractable glass roof panels
- Glass panels moved into position
- Structural bonding
- Aluminium extrusion
- Silicone gaskets
- Aluminium flashings for gutter beams
- Aluminium flashing at perimeter
- Ekopur membrane for gutter beams
