122 Leadenhall Building
The Leadenhall Building is located in central London. The 50-storey tower rises to a height of 224.5 metres (802 feet).
The Leadenhall Building’s erection was one of the fastest pieces of large-scale construction to take place in the UK. The skyscraper is informally known as the Cheesegrater because of its distinctive wedge shape. The facades are supplemented with an internal layer of double-glazing, forming a cavity, which incorporates the structural frame.
Installation consisted of the following:
- Facade Area: 75,000m²
- Galleria – Base of building, levels Ground to 5 – Frameless glazing and stick work with glass toggle fixed
- Office – Middle of building, levels 5 to 47 – double skin façade with walkways and blinds
- Stair Core – Ground Floor to Level 51 – unitized construction louvers
- Attic – Top of building, levels 47 to 51 – stick work mullions with glass on carrier frame, maintenance walkways
- Roof cladding – Insulated aluminium panels
